Although I am a constitutionalist I am also a Christian and as such I am also VERY unhappy with the idea of my Lord and religion being stepped on and pissed on by those who think that marriage is a right of all. It is not as we like to say, "what ever floats your boat or tickles your fancey". If they wish to take up CIVIL UNIONS, that though disgusts me, is much more the way to take to recieve the end means they seek.
I think the courts should had just stricken any special rights recieved by the Government to any Union, whether it be a man and woman or a same sex partnership. Each right should be determined by the state inwhich one resides. But this would at least allow for protection of
1: The right of the Church to hold the Definition of the word "marriage" as sanctified.
2: The right of the people's voice's to be heard.
3: The right of business's to choose to run as they so wish. With-out forcing those who's religous beliefs disagree with such unions.
