Niger and Fagot

Look Down

Niger-   Niger ([niʒɛʁ]; /nˈʒɛər/, /ˈnər/), officially the Republic of Niger, is a landlocked country in Western Africa, named after the Niger River. It borders Nigeria and Benin to the south, Burkina Faso and Mali to the west, Algeria and Libya to the north and Chad to the east. Niger covers a land area of almost 1,270,000 km, making it the largest nation in West Africa, with over 80 percent of its land area covered by the Sahara desert. The country's predominantly Islamic population of 17,138,707 is mostly clustered in the far south and west of the nation. The capital city is Niamey, located in the far-southwest corner of Niger.

  1. Definition of fagot (n)

    1. bundle of sticks for firewood: a bundle of sticks or twigs, especially wood to be burned as fuel
    2. bundle of pieces of metal: a bundle of pieces of metal, especially pieces of iron or steel for welding
    3. collect something and tie into bundle: to collect things, especially sticks, and tie them into a bundle or bundles

I bet that in the beginning you thought that we were talking about a racial or sexual orientation.  Well, whatever you may have thought, we were not doing any of that now were we?  So, whatever you might have thought of us, this is what you can now think of yourself.  We have none of this to discuss but rather wanted to show how you your thoughts are the issue, not everyone else's speech.

Perhaps you give certain words too much power over your thoughts and emotions and as such it is not the word that is necessarily bad but you who makes it seem as though it is "bad".  Each word has a meaning and a place in our language.  Each word if used properly will not offend but will tell a story or explain something.

As such, we are missing a piece of education and limiting only our own intellect and by doing so, we then limit ourselves.  The word Niger has its own place if used properly as well as the word Fagot.  Their are a great number of other words we find a reason to, rather than to except we would, choose to be offended by.

Let us go on our way and learn to NOT be offended by something that has been said or done.  I bet you can achieve this goal.  I believe in you.
